Turn on Data Roaming for your eSIM

What does Data Roaming mean here?

It is a switch on the eSIM line. It lets this eSIM connect. It does not add a charge on plans bought here.

Turn it on for the eSIM you bought. Leave it off on your home SIM, so your home carrier does not bill you for data abroad.

How do I turn it on on iPhone?

On some iOS versions, Cellular is called Mobile Service or Mobile Data. The steps are the same.

1. Connect to Wi-Fi and install the eSIM before you fly.
2. Settings, Cellular (or Mobile Service), then the travel eSIM.
3. Turn Data Roaming on for that line only.
4. Set that line as your Cellular Data line.
5. Turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching.

How do I turn it on on Android?

1. Samsung: Settings, Connections, SIM manager. Set Mobile data to the eSIM.
2. Then Connections, Mobile networks, and turn Data roaming on.
3. Pixel: Settings, Network and internet, SIMs, open the eSIM, and turn Roaming on.
4. On other brands, the switch is on that eSIM’s own SIM screen. Leave roaming off on your home SIM.

The phone shows signal, but there is no internet

The line can show signal and still have no data if Data Roaming is off, or if the phone is still using your home SIM for mobile data. Check those two settings, then toggle airplane mode for about 10 seconds.
